Counting Equipment
CLICK COUNT CM2
Optical counting system
The COUNT CM2 is a compact, low-drop, desktop quantitative visual counting machine designed for precise, automated product counting and optional packaging across various industries. It features a movable, space-saving push design with customizable configurations such as hoppers, chutes, lifting feeders, and packaging machines.
This automated counting machine operates on a high-speed machine vision processing architecture. The system uses optical imaging and real-time image processing algorithms to detect and quantify discrete parts across diverse physical characteristics, including varying colours.

Feeding and Dispersion Mechanism
Infeed Hopper & Vibratory/Conveyor System: Bulk items loaded into the upper hopper are dispersed onto a high-speed conveyer/vibratory bed. This step spreads overlapping pieces into a single layer to ensure individual optical separation before imaging.
Optical Image Acquisition
High-Speed Industrial Camera: As pieces pass through the inspection zone (illuminated by uniform LED backlighting or top lighting), an optical camera captures high-resolution frame sequences of the moving conveyor surface.
Controlled Lighting Area: Standardized lighting eliminates ambient shadows and reflection artifacts, establishing consistent optical contrast.
Machine Vision & Image Processing
Segmentation & Thresholding: Advanced image processing algorithms convert captured frames into segmented regions of interest (ROIs). The system separates target parts from the background based on edge detection, contrast, or multi-channel colour space analysis (e.g., HSV/RGB thresholding).
Blob Analysis & Contour Detection: Individual pieces are identified as connected components ("blobs"). Contour tracking algorithms calculate geometric features (surface area, aspect ratio, circularity) to distinguish target items, reject debris, and accurately separate touching/adjacent parts.
Color-Agnostic Counting Capability
The vision engine is designed to operate seamlessly across multi-colour and mixed-colour parts batches. By utilizing colour-invariant edge detection algorithms, adaptive thresholding, or infrared/monochromatic backlighting, the machine identifies target pieces strictly by geometry, contour, and spatial contrast—ensuring accurate counts regardless of piece colour, shade, or surface reflectivity.
Data Accumulation & Logic Control
• Real-time Counter & HMI: The central processor tallies validated objects frame-by-frame and displays real-time target metrics on the touchscreen HMI interface.
• Batch & Rejection Triggering: Upon reaching programmed batch targets, signal outputs prompt pneumatic nozzles, diverter gates, or batch chutes to group the counted units for packaging or downstream processing.
