Packaging Materials & Feature:

Plastic Products

​Pros:  
• Lightweight and durable - easy to transport and handle.  
• Cost-effective - ideal for large-scale production.  
• Versatile - available in many shapes, colors, and finishes.  ​

Cons:  
• High environmental impact if not properly recycled.  
• May degrade over time with UV exposure or chemicals. 
• Sometimes perceived as less “premium” than glass or metal.

Paper Products​

​Pros:  
• Lightweight and cost-effective for shipping  
• Eco-friendly: biodegradable and recyclable  
• Easy to customize with prints and designs

Cons:  
• Weak against moisture and pressure  
• Limited barrier protection  
• Not suitable for long-term or high-moisture food storage

Wood Products

Pros:  
• Natural, eco-friendly, and biodegradable  
• Premium, artisanal look - ideal for high-end products  
• Strong and durable for transport  
• Breathable - useful for certain foods (e.g. fruits, cheese)​

Cons:  
• Not always hygienic if untreated  
• May absorb odors or liquids  
• Not suitable for direct contact with all types of food  
• More expensive and less standardized  

Metal Products​

Pros:

• High resistance and protection against light, oxygen, and moisture

• Long shelf life for food products

• Lightweight and easy to transport

• 100% recyclable ​

Cons:

• Can rust if not properly treated

• Requires internal coatings for acidic foods

• Opaque - contents are not visible

• More expensive than plastic or cardboard

Glass Products

​Pros:  
• Inert material - does not alter the taste or quality of food  
• Transparent - allows visibility of the contents  
• Infinitely recyclable without loss of quality  
• Excellent barrier against gases and liquids  

Cons:  
• Fragile - easily breakable  
• Heavy - higher transportation costs  
• More expensive to produce and ship  
• Not suitable for all types of food (e.g. frozen items)
